Sharp Electronics Selects Kopin's 0.16-inch CyberDisplay-Equipped Electronic Viewfinder Module for its Newest Family of Camcorders
CyberEVF(TM) 113K provides crisp resolution in a power-saving, easy-to-integrate solution
Kopin Corp. (Nasdaq: KOPN), the largest U.S. manufacturer of microdisplays for portable communications applications, announced today the addition of Sharp Electronics Corporation to its CyberDisplay(TM) customer base. Sharp is integrating Kopin's color filter 0.16-inch (diagonal) CyberDisplay-equipped electronic viewfinder system, the CyberEVF(TM) 113K, into two new Digital Viewcam camcorders, models VL-Z900-T and VL-Z2300-W. These models are available in stores now.

"Sharp pioneered the development and commercialization of the liquid crystal laptop computer screen in the early 1990s, and ultimately spurred Kopin's development of microdisplays. Our relationship with Sharp speaks volumes about what Kopin has achieved since we began production of the CyberDisplay in 1999."
As small as a grain of rice, the CyberDisplay 113K is the smallest liquid crystal display in the world, with an active resolution of 521 x 218, or about 113,000 pixels. The CyberDisplay 113K delivers bright, clear images for camcorder and digital camera viewfinders and head-mounted displays for personal entertainment devices.
