NI MATRIXx 7.1 Simplifies Debugging and Reduces Code Footprint

Industry-Proven Alternative for Dynamic Control Design Decreases Development Time and Cost

National Instruments today announced MATRIXx 7.1, the latest version of the industry-proven software suite for fast, cost-effective model-based design of dynamic control systems. MATRIXx 7.1 introduces better debugging, model management and automatic code generation to accelerate system development for aerospace and automotive design applications.

Engineers now can interactively debug, edit, save and run MathScript functions and commands with the new Xmath debugging window. They also can decrease debugging time with a new variable watch window that records and stores variables during script development. An enhanced SystemBuild catalog browser displays Xmath partitions, user types, global variables and the hierarchical organization of SuperBlocks within a framework to help engineers better manage their complex systems. SystemBuild also provides a configuration management interface into commercial file and version control software.

MATRIXx 7.1 also features AutoCode improvements, including fixed-point generated code footprint reductions up to 50 percent and an additional code generation template for targeting the VxWorks 5.4 real-time operating system. Furthermore, engineers now can use MATRIXx without a network connection. With the upgraded license management software included in MATRIXx 7.1, engineers can obtain licenses for portable computers from a license server.

MATRIXx has been used in the design of dynamic control systems for aerospace and automotive applications for more than 20 years and was acquired by National Instruments in 2003. Engineers using previous versions of MATRIXx can easily upgrade to MATRIXx 7.1 and integrate the newest features into their current projects.
