Digital Bridges Signs Upcoming title from Lara Croft™ Creator To Launch Simultaneously On Mobile Phones
Digital Bridges, a world leader in the creation and distribution of mobile entertainment solutions, announced today an agreement with 8bit Games Ltd. and SCi Games Ltd to publish the mobile edition of Galleon.
From the creator of Lara Croft™, Toby Gard, Galleon is an epic tale of action, adventure, romance, evil and mystery. The title will be released across Europe on consoles by SCi Games in June 2004. dbigames will publish and distribute the mobile (J2ME and BREW downloadable games) version of the title in Europe and North America across its various distribution channels, including wireless network operators, retail, interactive television, and web portals.
Developed by 8bit Games, the mobile edition of Galleon will be released as two distinct chapters and is true to the rich adventure storyline of the console edition. Galleon will be one of the most powerful adventure games available on the mobile platform. Mobile users will be able to step into the shoes of hero Rhama Sabrier and journey on an epic adventure to unlock the mystery of an enchanted ship, which could hold the key to amazing powers.
The parallel launch across console and mobile will be supported by joint marketing initiatives which will serve to enhance the awareness of the title on both platforms. “Galleon is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate the power of dbigames’ publishing capabilities, as we will be leveraging Toby Gard’s proven world-class creativity into a new title which will be simultaneously available to literally hundreds of millions of consumers,” said Digital Bridges Senior VP of Marketing, Paul Maglione.
