New Website Helps Video Game Enthusiasts Find Educational and Employment Opportunities In The Video Game Designer Field

NewsreleaseDate: 2012-01-16

For many families, video games make up an important part of their entertainment and interaction. Most families with children or young adults have one and sometimes two or more video consoles. If you count the outdated models, there are even more.

Children are now brought up with video games. They are not only not afraid of computerized technology, they embrace it. As such, many look at video game development as a viable career choice. The problem is the field is very specialized and often hard for novices to break into.

This was the basis for the design of the Video Game Designer Salary website. The goal of the website is to provide accurate, timely information about the video gaming industry. We have tried to include tips on gaining entry level positions such as video game tester. Many young people covet a position testing new video games for the perceived perks like being able to play a new game before it is even available. However they are often disappointed and unaware of the downsides of being a video game tester which is the testers are not being paid to play the game; they are being played to test it. This is not as fun because you may be assigned to play the same part of the game over and over again. Due to this quirk, failure rate is high and entry level pay is very low because so many testers wash out early. To that end, Video Game Designer Salary attempts to explain the inner workings of video game testing and the video game design industry.

There are an ever increasing number of schools that offer video game design courses. The website tries to list these. It also offers advertising so colleges and schools of higher education can tell their stories and offer discounts on tuition to the people looking to enroll in this category. Scholarships are another area the website intends to explore.

The website was designed by Epic Marketing of San Diego. Epic’s Dave Berger is quoted as saying “We are very excited to be involved in this project. Video games are common place. We find them on gaming consoles and even the new smart phones. Yet for an industry as competitive as this, there seems to be scant little information available. The goal of the website is to create a central place to disburse this information to anyone who wants it.

In addition to the articles and opinions by the staff, we have archived all the searches for this category. It is often very advantageous to look at what others have searched for in the past to explore deeper into the vault of public knowledge. Very often one will find something that hadn’t even been considered that opens one up to new avenues of thought and exploration.”

The new website was designed and is maintained by Epic Marketing of San Diego. You can visit the website at http://www.video-game-designer-salary.com We welcome your comments and ideas. You may respond directly on the website or email dave@epicsd.com
