Nu Millennium's:Love Hangover Concert/Poem Open In NYC May 30-31

NewsreleaseDate: 2008-05-10

(New York, NY May 9, 2008)-New York based a capella soul group Nu Millennium will debut in a new experimental Concert/Poem stage play entitled “Love Hangover.” Produced by Wabi Sabi Productions Inc a Not For Profit production company. This will be the company’s 2nd collaboration with the a capella group.

This new concept was the brainchild of Wabi Sabi Production’s Founder/Producer Emmitt Thrower. The show opens for 2 performances May 30 and May 31, 2008 at 8:00 PM at the Times Square Arts Center, 300 W 43rd St Room 411, 10036 Between 8th and 9th aves, Tickets are $20-$30 with Group discounts (10+) available by calling 917 716-6635. Tickets can be purchased on line at Theatermania.com or by calling box office at 212 352-3101.

Nu Millennium is one of New York’s premiere a capella groups. This production has a theme of Love and heart break like it was during the 1960’s and 1970’s. While the poetry is overtly hilarious, the songs are soulful and melodic. The styles are classic R and B and Doo Wop, which were staples of the times. The group performed in the Off Broadway Musical Barry White:Guided by Destiny which received raves during its run. It was also produced by Wabi Sabi Productions. The production also features Gezele Portwood a singer/actress and Tina Lynn Dickerson an abstract artist and costumer.

There are plans to develop the production into a touring Concert/Poem Tribute to love songs and the 1960 and 1970’s sensibilities. This concert/poem/play hybrid piece bridges the gap between the three art disciplines. This niche performance style caters to not only traditional concert and theater goers but to the cultural sophisticates also. Couples and those who want entertainment that evokes a feel of the good old days but has a “today” flair to it will enjoy the experience. This groundbreaking production accomplishes just that.
