There are other ways to do it but not in these types of an Embedded System integrated manner, you’re getting your complete system inside a flexible material that can be attached to anything you would like. It's applicable in many different cases, whether you're thinking of medical applications or of structural health monitoring-since everything is Embedded System and comes in a single system, you're not limited." The idea for Embedded System PHOSFOS came from a longstanding collaboration. "We were working with microstructured fibers and had collaborations with the University of Ghent and IMEC," Berghmans says. "They had the microsystems technology, thinning diodes down until they were flexible. We said it would be great if we could combine everything to achieve these fully fledged integrated sensor systems." At Embedded System Works, we use Flash for in-course audio content. Audio is recorded in our audio lab and saved in a common format. The file is then imported into Flash. ActionScript is used in conjunction with on-screen buttons, to allow users to control audio playback. This interactive audio file can then be attached to any course, using the SyberWorks Web Author application. At Embedded System Works, we are currently working with an Internet company whose proprietary software (for security reasons) only works on computers behind their firewall. Since we can’t install or use their software in-house, we had to go to the client’s location to take screen shots. Those images were then imported into Flash, captions and highlights were added, and the course material came to life. There are three Quiz styles to choose from. At the left of the stage, a Control component provides instructions and is governed by the Component Inspector. It is possible to make adjustments to the entire Quiz and choose result options. Each frame in the Quiz template has its own set of studying interactions for you to choose from. So when you need a multiple-choice question, you can copy and paste the frame for multiple-choice questions and modify it as needed. The scenario on page 37 illustrates how employees will "learn" in the near future. For many reasons, the age-old model of "learn-then-do" is being replaced by a newer "learn-while-doing" model. And this is not about a shift from traditional classroom based understanding to Embedded System e-learning (Scott did not have the time luxury to get his answer from a course-e-learning or otherwise). This scenario is about embedding learning into the work process. You'll be able to also dynamically update the text for components from an external text file. So application development is much easier now, applying Embedded System Flash Components and Action Script. In addition to its built-in finding out interactions, Flash also offers Quiz templates. Simply go to File, then to New, and in the Templates section, select the Quiz category. |
